A More Productive Layout for Unity
A quick guide to a more professional layout in your Unity Editor.
In my last article we covered Installing Unity. In this article I will show you how to set up and save a more productive layout in Unity.
Every window in Unity can be moved and adjusted in size to fit your preference, making the UI completely customizable.
The first time you open a Unity project, you will be met with this default window layout.
To save a little time we will start with the Tall layout, which is the closest one to the layout we will be using.
Now we just need to grab the Game tab, then drag and dock it below the Scene window.
That’s it! We can now save our layout by once again clicking on the layout pulldown menu and selecting the save layout option.
You will now see your new layout in the pulldown menu so you can easily switch between the presets and your professional layout. If you find something you prefer, you can always save more layouts or experiment moving things around for yourself and always return to a previously saved layout if you get lost or the windows get too jumbled.
My next article will cover Simple Player Moment Inside Unity.
